As the Head of Design for the content partnerships team at Canva, I ensure that our projects are backed by a robust design strategy, informed by data to achieve our company goals while also being creatively inspiring for our users. Our team focusses on library partners, brand partners and diversity partners. In this role, I have had the opportunity to work directly with iconic brands such as NASA, Pinterest, The New York Times, and Disney.

Popular music

Our partnerships team successfully acquired popular music tracks for the Canva library from artists such as Benson Boone, Vance Joy and Michael Bublé, enriching the platform's audio offerings.

My design team played a key role in this partnership by creating stunning templates to accompany and promote these songs, ensuring seamless integration and enhancing the user experience with visually appealing designs that complement the new music collection. Working closely withe the marketing team, I have been able to ensure that millions of eyes have seen this fresh content in our library.

One of the partnerships highlights in 2024 was to work directly with Guy Kawasaki on a set of engaging lessons about career development, targeting people who are ready to kick off their professional careers. The lessons are enriched with exclusive interviews from visionaries like Jane Goodall and Temple Grandin and have inspiring activities for our users along the way.

Specifically on LinkedIn this content saw a huge amount of engagement, exceeding our benchmark rates, with a CTR of 23.8% in the first 90 days of launching.

Disney

Late 2024 Canva entered an exciting content partnership with Disney. The Disney collection and templates give our users direct access to beloved character artwork that has inspired nostalgia and wonder for generations, allowing them to unleash their creativity.

It didn’t take long for users across the globe to discover these templates and elements, sharing their love across socials.

As part of the Disney partnership, at the 2025 San Diego Comic-Con the Canva Print Shop brought creativity to life with an interactive, hands-on experience that celebrated Marvel fan culture and self-expression. Attendees were invited to design their own exclusive Comic-Con keepsakes using a range of themed Canva templates designed by my team, such as posters, postcards, and tote bag designs inspired by pop culture icons, cosplay, and fan art.

Visitors customized their designs in real time at the stand’s touchscreens, choosing colors, illustrations, and type treatments before seeing their creations printed on-site in vibrant quality. The activation drew continuous crowds throughout the weekend, with long queues forming for both the design stations and the print pickup area.

Pinterest

Our partnership with Pinterest Predicts empowered users to get a head start on the biggest and hottest Design trends for 2025, which inspired how their work can stand out in the workplace as well as for personal use.

Pinterest lauched with 20+ trends, of which we selected 6 to create templates for, such as ‘Cherry Coded’, and ‘Rococo Revival’, that were most suitable for our users and in line with the doctypes we have available.
